IPCOS and Jingzuo Shi sign a marketing and sales agreement for the glass business in China
Mr. Jingzuo Shi is a senior control engineer, who worked within the glass industry for approx. 40 years. He developed and built the first tubing sorting system in 1968 in China. He also experimented with the dimension control of tubing lines in the late 1980's by means of small size DCS based PID-systems. Although he tried all kind of configurations it became clear to him that this approach would not result in stable and robust operation. In 1992 Mr. Shi contacted IPCOS for the first time to learn about advanced process control systems developed by IPCOS. Due to the fact that this company was focusing on other forming processes, at that time he could not to convince his company to apply the technology from IPCOS. After 10 years he contacted IPCOS again and found out that the new INCA based and Model-based Predictive Control technology developed by IPCOS is really the best control solution for the glass industry from the melting process to the forming area.
A desirability of Mr. Jingzuo Shi: "I want to introduce this MPC technology to the Chinese glass industry"
