IPCOSAptitude in tune with global refinery

APC specialists IPCOSAptitude, formerly Aptitude Ltd, have given their first webinar under their new company colours. The webinar which took place last Tuesday was given to a private audience from a large international operating company with oil refineries located around the globe. With emphasis on the practical aspects of the processes, it focussed on the multivariable PID tuning software AptiTuneTM to optimise a highly interactive 3x3 system. The system was chosen by members of the refinery engineering team and reflects the realworld scenario faced every day by many engineers who need to be confident about balancing the best performance outcome whilst minimising the risk to the process.

Positive feedback demonstrated the ease-of-use of the package to generate useable results quickly and ease the challenges of tuning complex processes without compromising the safety and integrity of the process equipment. The simultaneous tuning of the 3x3 case indicated the potential of the software, which is highly scalable and has the capability to tune a virtually infinite number of loops at the same time.

“We received very positive feedback from our audience. We believe in a practical approach to problem-solving and a webinar is the ideal forum for this kind of information exchange. The interactive environment means that we can immediately respond to questions, clarify points and make sure our audience members get value for money” commented Michael Harmse, IPCOSAptitude director and consultant.

IPCOSAptitude will be holding a public webinar in early March to discuss tuning of 3x3 systems and the results of the system tuned for last Tuesday’s audience. Please email training@ipcosaptitude for details.
