IPCOS and Dolphin Energy complete Automation System Audit

Cambridge UK, February 7th 2011

After a rigorous 6 months of data gathering, collation and analysis IPCOS and Dolphin Energy have successfully completed an Automation System Audit of Dolphin Energy’s facilities in Qatar and the UAE. Dolphin’s automation systems were benchmarked against a global data base of manufacturing sites selected from the Refining, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry sectors. The ARC Benchmark data base was used as the basis for this benchmark analysis. The ARC Advisory Group is a leading research and advisory firm for industry and infrastructure. The results of the Audit show that Dolphin Energy has excellent state of the art facilities, systems and processes and ranks amongst the leaders in the industry. The Audit and Benchmarking study received excellent co-operation from all stakeholders and the results have been presented at a senior level in the organisation.

“This comprehensive Audit of our facilities has given us an indication of our standing in the world with respect to Automation facilities and we are proud to be ranked amongst the best international companies” commented Mr. Saif Bu Alrougha, Deputy Vice President Corporate Automation at Dolphin Energy. “This study was conducted in full co-operation and partnership with Dolphin Energy staff with a view to take Dolphin Energy into the top quartile of best automation and operational practices in the industry” said Patrick Thorpe Lead Consultant from IPCOS.

The findings of the Audit are being adopted and implemented and these have already created significant benefit for the organisation.
